The Wings Track Club of Houston, Texas is one of the nation’s leading and most experienced youth track and field organizations in the state of Texas. Mr. Curtis Terrel founded the club in 1977 out of the need to assist young persons, who were interested in organized track and field competition on local, regional, and national levels.

The Wings Track Club is a 501.3(c) non-profit corporation, which uses the Fort Bend County’s Willowridge High School facility for weekly practices and annually held home track meets.

Since the Clubs inception the Wings Track Club has been a pillar for the surrounding Houston community not only providing a viable organization where kids could develop their  track and field abilities but also serving as a portal for sending athletes to colleges and universities across the United States. Over 75% of Wings athletes have received collegiate scholarships to the nation’s top ranked U.S. institutions. The Club has also produced many elite athletes that compete on the Olympic national circuit.

The Club operates year round, with our Phase I cross-country season beginning in August; Phase II indoor season beginning in mid – October, Phase III regular season training beginning in January through March and Phase IV the Competition season from March to July. Wings Track Club has an enrollment of approximately 190 to 250 athletes annually. Other programs include a fall track and field speed clinic that is offered to track and field athletes, soccer, baseball, football and athletes who are interested in improving their agility, strength and speed.

The Club’s programs are offered to individuals between the ages of 6 to 18 years of age. Much of organizations continued success is due to the educational and social experiences attained by our young athletes through interacting with other boys and girls from varied social and economic backgrounds.

Through the programs offered, club members have gained invaluable national track and field meet experience traveling across the United States. The organization possesses over 37 years of track and field experience with well-trained certified coaches across state of Texas.

Wings Track Club is a sanctioned member of the AMATEUR ATHLETIC UNION OF THE UNITED STATES INC. (AAU) organization and participates in track and field events through the Region 17 Gulf District of the AAU. Since its inception, the club has represented, annually, its Association and Region at National Junior Olympics held at various sites around the country.

We have a dedicated staff of volunteer coaches and administrators, whose desire is to see the inexperience athlete develop into a competitive collegiate contender. Wings athletes continue to flourish in institutions of higher education and several are currently competing with scholarships at various colleges and universities throughout the United States.
